Not the Best Weekend...

Call me arrogant.

Call me paranoid.

But just because I feel the sports world revolves around me and reacts to my thoughts and wishes, doesn't mean I don't have feelings!!

What am I talking about? Well try this on for size. In less than 48 hours, all these things happened...

1) My fantasy football team, which came into the weekend leading the league in both record and points, finished week 7 with robust total of 27 points! And that was after the Patriots D actually came through with 19 points on Monday Night Football!

Not only that, but in about a 10 minute span, I lost Devin Hester for at least the next week or 2, and lost my best player, Reggie Bush, for God knows how long with some sort of knee injury. He's heading to see Dr. James Andrews, and I'm headed back to the drawing board...

...and don't even get me started about Favre. Just feel free to remind me that I told myself this would happen...

2) After using a post season record comeback to force a game 5, and starting off game 7 with a Pedroia solo shot that put them up 1-0, the Red Sox fell to the Rays in the ALCS. Tease complete. Comeback thwarted. Season over. I know you can't win the World Series every year, but that's just not the way it should have ended. As dumb as it sounds, I would have rather the Yanks won the division and the Red Sox missed the playoffs. At least that would have made some sense...

3) I played 18 free holes of golf @ Quail Ridge in Acton, MA courtesy of my buddy, Chris "to punt a predator" Hanson, but came out a loser when a clutch 10-footer on 18 put my scrambling foursome on the losing end of a 1 stroke decision. I played like ass, my team lost, and while I had a good time, losing never leaves a good taste in my mouth. It's like pounding a stiff screwdriver right after you finish brushing your teeth. Sure the greater good was served, but for the most part, you just wanna bend over a trash can and start ralphin'...

OK. So maybe my world didn't exactly come crumbling down, but it sure as Hell felt like it. When I woke up on Monday morning, I was half expecting to go to ESPN.com and find a picture of me with my shoulders shrugged under a headline that read "Rooch: He Is Who We Thought He Was". You know, like in Eddie Murphy Raw? "Johnny's Wife Gets Half Johnny's Money". Well that's how I'm feelin' right now. SO give me a few days to recover, and I'll be back on Friday to rock your world...

...like a hurricane
